Itinerary Mull-2: Island Photography weekend, from GBP 295 per person for 3nts

An unforgettable short break to experience the sublime quality of Hebridean light amid the stunning landscapes, seascapes, and cloudscapes of the Isle of Mull. This short break includes a full day in the company of an expert, professional photographer with great local knowledge of lighting, weather and tidal conditions.

Day One - Over the sea to Mull

Easily accessible from Glasgow or Prestwick airport, the drive to Oban is straightforward and enjoyable. (You can also travel by train from Glasgow.) The 45 minute ferry crossing over the Sound of Mull, with glorious views in all directions, is one of the highlights of the trip.

Basking in the picture-postcard charm of Tobermory's stunning waterfront, your hotel has been cleverly converted from a row of fisherman's cottages into a delightful family-run establishment. The award winning restaurant enjoys views across to Calve Island. 

Day Two - Full day Photography course

Today you will visit a range of off the beaten track locations, travelling by Land Rover, and guided by locally based photographer Dr Sam Jones. She will help you explore some of the hidden treasures of the island whilst benefitting from expert ‘in the field’ tuition. The course can be tailored for any level of experience and you can even hire a Canon digital SLR for a small fee. A packed lunch will be provided.

Day Three - Exploring Mull

A day to tour the island on your own and practise new found skills. Perhaps cross to the neighbouring islands of Iona or Ulva, or take a boat trip to the unique island of Staffa, famous for Fingal's cave.

This holiday can be arranged  from late February until end November 2010.
The price is £295 per person for February, March & November and £335 per person for April to October, based on 2 people sharing a double room with seaview and ensuite facilities, for 3 nights on a bed & breakfast basis, including a full day "in the field" photography course, in a small group of maximum 6. Transport and a packed lunch included on this day.

We can also offer this holiday as a two night break for £249 per person in March & November.

Price also includes return ferry crossing from Oban to the Isle of Mull for a car and 2 adult passengers.

All these holidays are well suited for those who prefer to travel by public transport, ask us for more details.

Add £10 per person for Saturday ferry sailings, in either direction, from May to August.
