Touring Scotland - See Scotland Simply from £265 per person for 3nts
We have designed this short holiday for visitors looking to pack in as much as possible to a few days in Scotland, and who do not want to hire a car. You are based in Edinburgh, and have one full day to explore the city, and then head out in a small group tour for a full day to explore more of the country, perhaps including Loch Ness, the Highlands.
Day One - Arrive Edinburgh
The Scottish capital is now one of the world’s top city holiday destinations. Visitors from all over the world are drawn here by the wealth of historic sites, galleries and museums, shops, restaurants and bars – not to mention the spectacular sight of Princes Street and the castle rock. Yet it’s still perfectly possible to avoid most of the crowds and find quiet cobbled streets, peaceful cafes and bars and, above all, to enjoy this most scenic of British cities. We are ideally placed to give you plenty of suggestions, including the more off the beaten track ideas only a local would know.
Your Accommodation
For visitors seeking both contemporary style and value for money, this unique aparthotel combines the comfort and service of a top-quality hotel with the additional space and facilities you would expect from good self-catering accommodation. Each apartment offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge, dining area and fully-equipped modern kitchen. The location is another bonus: just off Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, you can head up the hill to the castle, or down to Holyrood Palace and the new Scottish Parliament, less than five minutes’ walk. Just beyond this is the extraordinary wilderness of Holyrood Park – where you can escape the city completely - and Arthur’s Seat, whose easily attained summit affords superb panoramic views of the cityscape.
Day Two - Walking tour of Edinburgh
After a morning explring the city on your own, this afternoon enjoy a "Secrets of the Royal Mile" walking tour. Accompanied by a guide in period costume, you have the chance to stroll down the centuries and unlock the secrets of Edinburgh’s cultural, criminal and political past. The tour ventures into oft ignored closes and wynds, buildings and courtyards as it wends its way towards the Castle at the head of the Royal Mile.
Day Three - Exploring Scotland on your choice of day tour
Today spend a full day in a small group ( maximum 16) on your choice of itinerary.
There are three main options:
"Scotland in a Day", a tour covering the magnificent beauty of Rannoch moor, Glencoe, the Great Glen, Loch Ness and Pitlochry.
"Lomond, the Trossachs & Stirling Castle", a day spent in the land of Scots heroes Rob Roy, Robert the Bruce and William Wallace, taking in the magnificent splendour of the medieval stronghold of Stirling Castle and the beautiful nature and forests of Scotland's first National Park of Loch Lomond.
"St Andrews & the Fishing Villages of Fife": A day out with lots of free time in the medieval city of St. Andrews, home of golf, and the picturesque old fishing villages in the East Neuk (corner) of the Kingdom of Fife.(from Edinburgh only)
